Our Story

TapTalk.ke was founded by the Special Children Foundation (SCF), an NGO dedicated to supporting children with special needs. SCF was established by a group of passionate parents who have children with special needs, including speech challenges. Recognizing the communication barriers their children faced, these determined parents joined forces to create a solution that could make a difference not just for their own families, but for countless others across Kenya.

In 2024, SCF launched TapTalk.ke as a groundbreaking initiative to address the specific communication needs of individuals with limited speech abilities. By combining their personal experiences with expert input from speech therapists and software developers, SCF created an app that truly understands and meets the needs of its users.

We’ve developed a cutting-edge mobile application that transforms the way people with limited speech abilities express themselves. Our app features:
